Nox: fintech travel-card concept film
A 31-second dark, vertical product film for a fictional travel card, moving through three cities before demonstrating exchange-rate, fee and card-freeze ideas.
Self-directed concept by Motionwisp. The brand and product are fictional; this is a craft demonstration, not a client campaign.
The creative brief
Nox is a self-directed concept film for a fictional travel card. The brief was to give a financial product a premium physical presence while keeping its practical controls understandable in a fast vertical edit. The result combines a dark card render, airport-style destination typography, payment notifications and one tactile freeze-and-unfreeze sequence.
The first half treats travel as a repeating pattern. Seoul establishes departure; Tokyo, London and New York follow with local currency, a contactless pulse and transaction notifications for a ramen shop, a lamplighter and a yellow cab. Keeping the card centred while the locations and surrounding light change makes the “same card” idea visible before the voiceover explains it.
The second half moves from travel atmosphere to control. An exchange-rate panel supports the rate message, then the card freezes into an ice-like surface and fractures when the control is switched. Reversing the interaction restores the card in one tap. The takeaway for fintech teams is to pair each abstract benefit with one concrete visual event: a new currency appears, a payment clears, a control changes and the card visibly responds. Nox is invented portfolio work. Its rates, fees, transactions and product functions are part of the concept and are not claims about a real financial service.
Why the film works this way
Keep one object at the centre
The black card anchors the Tokyo, London and New York chapters while typography, currency and reflections change around it. This gives a rapid travel montage a stable point of reference and makes product recognition possible even in brief shots.
Connect cities to transactions
Each destination is followed by a payment notification in its local currency. Those named purchases translate the broad “pay like a local” proposition into readable interface evidence inside the fictional demonstration.
Turn a control into a material change
The freeze-card toggle is echoed by a frozen surface spreading across the card and breaking into cracks. The literal transformation adds drama while preserving the cause-and-effect relationship of the interface interaction.
Reserve contrast for the close
Most of the film uses black, metallic surfaces and narrow bands of coloured light. The spare white Nox wordmark then receives the full frame, creating a clean landing after the dense transaction and freeze sequences.
